In the last week, Israeli gunfire seems to be behind the wounding and killing of dozens of Palestinians at an aid site in Gaza. Doubly strange because Israel is the one behind the aid site. In an effort to displace UN and Palestinian-led efforts, Israel, along with the U.S., teamed up to make their own aid site. In less than two weeks, food distribution was halted, living conditions deteriorated, and bodies hit the floor.
Who else but strategy consultants to deliver results. It turns out Boston Consulting Group was brought in as part of the American team of the aid organization. Two partners have been fired.
A BCG severance package isn’t the worst punishment for working with the Israeli military to deliver aid. And of course, to shoot civilians.
Do we know if Israel is cutting back on range time? Last time I checked, “warning shots” don’t usually hit the target, or anyone behind them.
I’m curious what review BCG will get on its work and what its post-mortem analysis will look like. I’m sure the Tel Aviv Office is working on crunch.
Would you look at that, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu actually worked at BCG from 1976-1978 after graduating from MIT. Totally zero conflict of interest going on, especially with the unnamed BCG staff.
“[Mapping] the value chain and [pinpointing] costs” with Israeli officials is fine and all, but do you think they have a model that predicts expected deaths over time?
Someone better let Israel know that failing to provide living necessities for people under occupation is a war crime. I hear that’s a pretty serious thing.
